The inauguration meeting of Assembly 2245 was held 8 p.m., February 22, 1991 at St. William Church in Round Rock. The new assembly was formed to serve Councils 9368, Round Rock; 6453, Georgetown; 7600, Leander; 10463 and Lago Vista as well as Austin Councils 9997, 10333 and Pfluegerville Council 10373. Worthy Master Joe Marusik was in attendance.

The new assembly was named for Msgr. James E. Fitzgerald, Chaplain of the Texas State Knight of Columbus Council ( for biography). The first Faithful Navigator for the assembly was Joe Bloomer. Ed LeBreton was first Faithful Comptroller.
