Committee Reports

A status was given by SK Moe Esker.  Sales have been underway at St. Williams for two weeks and St. Patrick’s, St. John Vianney’s and Santa Barbara Church for one week and sales are proceeding well.  The Assembly obtained (thru consignment) 67 cases of nuts and the objective is to sell all them with hopes for upsides sales.  It was requested that the Assembly make a partial payment to show the supplier good faith in the event there was an upside request for more cases.  A motion was made to send $4,000 to the supplier, was seconded and voted in favor.

Reading of applications after referrals:

The new fourth degree applications of Edward Tydings and Lucero Cesario were discussed and a motion was made to accept them as 4th degree candidates.  The motion was seconded and voted in favor.

Unfinished Business:

The Annual Clergy Appreciation event is scheduled for February 28, 2008 at the Radisson Hotel by the Highland Mall.  Admission is $20 per person.  Both the State Deputy and Bishop Gregory Aymond will be present.  A deadline has been set for 2/1/2008 to get the final count for this event.  Please communicate this to your councils.  Any questions, please contact FN Charles McCosky.  In addition, a correction was noted that in the past meeting, our FN requested that the Assembly present colors at this event which was in error.  Instead, the FN’s of the five Assemblies will present colors.  S.K. Moe Esker was requested to bring the flags to this event.

New Business:

1. Congratulations to S.K. David Orolfo on his new position as the District Deputy.

2. Last year after a brief December Assembly meeting, a Christmas party was held and the occasion was a success enjoyed by both the Knights and their wives.  A motion was made to have another this year at the December Assembly meeting with the cost of meat, wine and beer to be covered by the Assembly but not to exceed $400.  The motion was seconded and voted in favor.  Our FN requested that each Knight brings a side dish as follows (using your last name’s initial):

    A thru G  - Bring a salad

    H thru N – Bring a vegetable dish

    O thru T – Bring a ‘starch’

    U thru Z – Bring a dessert

Our FC James Barger will send out a separate note to the members as a reminder.

3. FN received a letter from seminarian David Trahan in thanking the Knights for the support he received from the Assembly.
